Define irony: iPhone-carrying, Nike-wearing May Day activists shout ‘Down with Capitalism’

Like something straight out of an Alanis Morissette song, the radical leftist peaceful May Day protesters thought it would be a great idea to smash up a bunch of private property in an effort to protest corporations and capitalism all while sporting items and clothing made possible by corporations and capitalism. Good call, guys.

Here are a few tweets via Twitchy.

Here we have someone destroying Niketown while wearing Nikes:

The irony was so undeniably thick that even the local news anchors couldn’t help themselves:

But the irony didn’t stop with anti-capitalists. It amazingly made its way to those advocating peace with their clothing:

Isn’t it ironic? Don’t ya think?

Look, we know what this was because it’s always the same. It was nothing more than a bunch of know-nothing spoiled adolescent brats in adult bodies having a good time throwing a temper tantrum. People with no moral center like to destroy things. If they truly hated capitalism, they wouldn’t do business with corporations. No one, I repeat, no one forces them to do business with anyone. That’s what’s beautiful about capitalism. It allows people to be free to make their own economic choices.

Yes, the irony here is truly remarkable although it seems to be lost on the protesters. Looks like a bunch of right-wing tea-partiers doesn’t it?
