Team Obama the mainstream media will not be happy about this one. Obviously they’re not doing enough hit piece on Marco Rubio.
from National Journal:
President Barack Obama’s second term just got under way, but it’s outgoing Secretary of State Hillary Clinton who is far more popular, according to a new Quinnipiac poll testing politicians’ favorability ratings. Need evidence that House Republicans are unpopular? House Speaker John Boehner sits at the bottom of the list, by far, in terms of net favorability. The poll, which surveyed 1,772 registered voters nationally, was conducted between January 30 and February 4. It has a margin of error of +/- 2.3 percentage points.
Here’s how all the nine politicians fared, from most popular to least.
+27 net favorability Clinton is flying high after leaving Foggy Bottom and returning to private life. As she decides whether run for president in 2016, she’ll have political capital to spend.
+12 net favorability Rubio’s net favorability is high, but 57 percent of those asked said they didn’t know enough about him to weigh in. Rubio, who proposed a bipartisan approach to immigration legislation with seven of his Senate colleagues, is among the Republicans mentioned as a possible presidential candidate in 2016.
Rest assured, the press will be working feverishly to make sure that other 57%’s first impression of Marco Rubio will be that he hates children and loves bombing old people in foreign countries.
Rubio does have some real tests ahead. I’m generally a big fan, but it remains to be seen if he can successfully navigate the immigration debate without thoroughly tarnishing his conservative principles.
