Obama hasn’t met with ‘jobs council’ in over a year

Look, the government can’t create jobs, it can only destroy them. So whenever I hear a politician from either party say “we need to create jobs”, I’m immediately skeptical that they even have a basic understanding of economics. But Obama is one of these politicians. He thinks that everything good and noble comes from government and if there’s a problem in a particular area, it’s only because it hasn’t been legislated, taxed or regulated enough. Which is why it perplexes me that he hasn’t met with his so-called “jobs council” in 367 days. Unless, of course, he’s afraid that they’ll tell him to get the government to stop trying to “create” jobs.

The group, formally known as the President’s Council on Jobs and Competitiveness, last convened on Jan. 17, 2012 for a White House session where it presented formal recommendations to Obama. It was the panel’s fourth official meeting since it was created in early 2011.

It’s just amazing to me that a man who claimed he would have a “laser-like focus” on jobs hasn’t even been advised about jobs in over a year.
