In an attempt to extend an olive branch, er, a cactus branch to conservatives, the hosts of the critically acclaimed joke "the View" interviewed patriot Glenn Beck today. After an almost insulting introduction, the hosts (mainly Whoopi and Barbara) immediately began attacking him, claiming that he "lied" on his radio show and that he is a liar and a faud. I can see them doing that to other comedic commentators such as John Stewart. There was so much hot air today in South Bend that I expected to see Al Gore protesting along side Alan Keyes. But, alas, all the warmth proved temporary as it was just the result of feel-good psycho babble we've come to expect from our commander-in-chief. While I'm sure many of his droid followers were slobbering at every word he read from his teleprompter, I was flabbergasted (though I'm not sure why) that so many outright lies and half-truths could be crammed in to one speech. It was art in motion. Could I point out a couple of fallacies the size of the grand canyon in some of the things he said? For the sake of time and energy I'll not harp on the fact that B.O. has the most radically liberal voting record in the history of the U.S. federal legislature in regards to abortion, that he actually supported infanticide (that is, the murder of babies after they're born) and, therefore, shouldn't be talking to anyone about their willingness to"reach across the aisles". I'll also not be the Debbie Downer who complains incessantly of the fluffy rhetoric that is sure to keep his poll numbers high among the mindless.
But, rather, I'll just take a second to explain why logic has waved bye bye to B.O. in his stance on abortion. Among the myriad of things he said in his speech that made me want to vomit, one gem stands out among all the rest. He had the audacity to say that, although we may disagree on abortion rights, we can still work together to lessen the amount of abortions. Um, can someone please explain this to me: if abortion isn't murder, then why should we care if they are lessened? Why does it matter? I certainly don't want the government intervening and telling any woman what they can and can't do. BUT, if it is murder, then how could anyone be pro-choice? This is such an obvious and simple question yet not one so-called journalist asked it. I can't say I'm surprised by it. Liberals have always had an uncanny ability to avoid reason at all costs but this fact doesn't make absorbing garbage like this any less frustrating.

I didn't think it was possible for a politician, during a campaign, to blatantly advertize his intent to rob from the average American by skyrocketting the costs of household energy and still get elected. Nevertheless, the unimaginable horror happened and we must face it. Cap and Tax is back again and will be voted on soon. Contact your local representative now and tell them to vote no on Cap and Trade.

Is a gallon a lot of water? If you're going to drink it, yes. If you're going to pour it in the ocean, no. This concept seems to be a hard one to grasp for those of a certain political persuasion. According to the left, Obama should be praised for his 'unprecedented' $17 billion cut to his $3.6 trillion budget. But let's put this in perspective. If Obama's budget was like driving from New York all the way to L.A. (2,791 Miles), his 'cuts' would be like driving from New York all the way to...Newark, N.J. That's right. A whopping 13 miles. Wow. Even the in-the-tank MSM isn't trying to make excuses for this craziness.
