I rarely ever watch mainstream news covereage because, frankly, it makes me angry most of the time. However, I was home with my family over the Easter holiday and my folks don't have cable or internet. Now, I'm well aware that the Obama adminitration has a daily phone call with news outlets to dish out news stories and plan media coverage, but I was disturbed to actually see the results of that cooporation. Accross ABC, NBC, and CBS there were news stories that went hand in hand on the same topics. Two of these topics stood out to me as I think that they signal the intentions of the Obama administration in the near future: gun control and illegal alien amnesty.
I saw a gun control story on at least two of the three networks within 24 hours, the worst of which was an ABC program entitled "If I Only Had a Gun." It went through lame "experiments" that were supposed to demonstrate that having a gun on you during a school shooting or similar event, you wouldn't be any safer; and it concluded with a child from a crime-ridden neigborhood pleading with Obama to intervene.
I also saw sappy human interest stories on EVERY broadcast news network about amnesty for illegal aliens. The worst of these was on Sunday, a piece about an illegal alien that somehow manages to take classes at a liberal California college. The piece bemoaned the student's inelligability for Federal tuition assistance.
So, here we go! Get ready, America. Gun control and amnesty for illegal aliens: coming soon from the Obama administration.
